Delegates

Effective January 1, 2011, there will be two groups of delegates - Elected Leadership Delegates and Appointed Leadership Delegates. The Membership will elect five Elected Leadership Delegates per Region Director. In addition, each Region Director will be entitled to appoint up to three Appointed Leadership Delegates. Terms for all delegates will coincide with the 3-year terms of the Region Directors these delegates are designated to. Delegates are responsible for ratifying bylaw changes and resolutions brought forth by the Cooperative membership. They are also responsible for attending Regional Meetings, in their respective Regions, the Annual Meeting and any Special Meetings of the Cooperative, and any such other meetings which the Board of Directors requires their attendance.

Nominations Committee

Established as part of the by-law changes passed in August 2010 and ratified at the October 11, 2010 Annual Meeting, each Region for which an election is to be held will have a Nominations Committee comprised of 3-5 members from the Region, appointed by the Board of Directors. The Nominations Committee may be comprised of Delegates or members from the respective region, or other members as the Board of Directors may choose. The Nominations Committee is to certify nominees for Director, Elected Leadership Delegates and Resolutions Committee and make every reasonable effort to have at least two candidates on the ballots for all director board seat elections.

Resolutions Committee

The Resolutions Committee consists of one member per Region Director and serves to present statements setting forth the official policy of the Cooperative with respect to regulating legislative, economic and marketing issues affecting the members of the Cooperative. They report to the Cooperative Board, delegates and general membership. Members of the Resolutions Committee are elected by the membership within each Region and serve for a term concurrent with that of the Region Director.

Structure Committee

This committee works to review the Cooperative's governance structure. Recommendations of the Committee are brought before the Board and, if recommendations require changes to the Cooperative’s by-laws, the delegate body is called upon to ratify any changes. Members of the Cooperative Structure Committee are appointed by each Region Director, Cooperative Member and Affiliate Member.

Regional Advisory Groups

The Regional Advisory Group consists of 6-10 members per Region Director and members are appointed by each Director. It is organized to solicit ideas, actions and feedback from the membership to bring forth to the Board of Directors and Management.
