Jim Madigan Speaks to Pennsylvania House Agriculture Committee

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – On February 11, Jim Madigan, dairy farmer from Towanda, Pa. and member of the Dairylea Cooperative Inc. 2011 ACT Conference for Young Farmers Held in Conjunction with Board of Directors Meeting

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. – Dairylea Cooperative Inc. and Dairy Farmers of America, Inc.’s Northeast Area were proud once again to sponsor the Advancing Cooperation Together (ACT) Conference. The conference, held January 12-14, at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool, N.Y. welcomed participants from farms across the Northeast. Dairylea Cooperative Celebrates 103rd Annual Meeting

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – On October 12, Dairylea Cooperative Inc. hosted its 103rd Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool, N.Y. The theme of this year’s meeting was “One Voice, One Goal, One Future” and the presentations gave more than 500 farmer-members and guests insight into the work going on to build consensus and strengthen the industry. Dairylea Recognizes Six Youths with Leadership Scholarships

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Dairylea’s Leadership Scholarship is given annually to high school seniors and college-aged students who are pursuing careers in agriculture-related professions, exhibit outstanding leadership abilities and foster the spirit of cooperation. The monetary gift is used to help further education in the agriculture industry. Interested candidates are asked to respond to a number of essay questions and receive an exemplary letter of recommendation. Read about each of the winners below:

Dairylea Honors Nine Farms for Milk Quality Management

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Dairylea Cooperative Inc. was proud to honor six member farms for achievements in milk quality management. For nearly 20 years, Dairylea’s quality program has recognized members whose herds produce outstanding raw milk. Each month, milk samples from every Dairylea member farm are tested and rated, based on strict industry criteria including the following: a somatic cell count (SCC) of 300,000 or less; a standard plate count of 10,000 or less; no added water; no growth inhibitors; no displeasing flavor, odor or appearance. The Milk Quality Management Award Program includes all Dairylea Cooperative members and member cooperatives from across the Northeast. Read about each of the winners below:

Dairylea Members Honored with Distinguished Member Award

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Dairylea Cooperative Inc. recently honored six farm families as Distinguished Members. This award honors farms and families who have more than 50 years of membership with Dairylea Cooperative. The award was presented at the 103rd Annual Meeting of Dairylea, held October 12 at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool, N.Y. The Cooperative, founded in 1907 as the Dairymen’s League, has always been at the forefront of dairy innovation and has taken a leadership role in bringing change to the industry. Today, Dairylea has a diverse membership that allows it to stand out among other cooperatives. Its long-term members helped shape Dairylea in the past and continue to affect change in the organization. Read about each of the winners below:
